WaveOut Not Supported - any magic solution?
The AIW (in fact ALL TV cards except for a Hauppage model) and the Audigy are currently incompatible in some mostly minor (and one or two not so minor) respects, Creative is at fault since they're the only company to have ever done this, though I'm sure ATI could come up with a solution if they wanted to.

Audigy problems with KR7A & Solution (long)
The Audigy has been dodgy at best. You might have better luck posting this to the Products.Sound_Blaster.Audigy group on Creative's news server: news.creativelabs.com I would also request that if anyone out there knows of a 5.1 audio solution that works good with these 2 boards to please post.

Is
there some pre-amp software I can get / download that would work with the Audigy? Sort of like Audigy works? You need a hardware solution: (1) M-Audio sells mic preamps. (2) Behringer sells small cheap mixing boards (starting at $39.95) that have mic inputs. (3) The product category "mic preamp" runs from soup

HTPC - The Final Solution
... about an hour on the phone last night with the guy who sold me the card (for $15 and a 12-pack of beer), we stumbled on a seemingly obvious solution. Evidently, my old system just couldn't handle the increased work load of the Audigy. That seems contradictory as I would have thought the Audigy doing more

Cubase & Audigy?
I owned an Audigy, but it got fried/failed to work, so I had to get a new card. The sound positioning is excellent, but the card is also a PCI bus hog and does occassionally have problems with games when used on VIA motherboards. Audigy with Cubase - has any solution ever come of this?
It drove me crazy finding one solution only just to discover the next problem was waiting for me. I finally solved it, but I am quite sure someone with less computer experience would make the jump back to Windows as fast as he could. I fully agree with you: let them join their intellects to create one sound system

Audigy 2 or Soundstorm?
Incidentally, don't worry if all your PCI devices are sharing the same IRQ in Win2K - this is normal and is a requirement of ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface).
